I’m Rebecca
An aspiring interior designer based in Glasgow.
ABOUT
I’m a fourth year student studying Interior Design at Glasgow School of Art. I have always been fascinated by interiors from a young age, it did start out looking at which colour went with which princess, but when I started to travel interiors turned into stories and memories. Each building or house I went into told a story about the history, through layout, structure, materiality, and colour palette – right to the future occupants. It identified a personality of each person or business that had used the space, which is what I want to achieve: an interior that tells a story to suit the client. Creating a space that makes customers feel comfortable and allowing them to move freely without restrictions.
I’m currently working with UWS Students’ Association which is allowing me to create a space for students and workers. I was able to design an open area for the students in the union and an office for members of staff. On the side is my part-time job at Time & Tide, a homeware and furniture store, I love working there allowing me to merchandise, help clients design their homes and to learn about suppliers. With studying, UWS and this job I’m very excited to start working as an interior designer in the future, it puts a smile on my face helping clients bring their designs to life and creating a space for them. I’m ready to start the next chapter in my life…
