Interstitial House:

This project was inspired by an exhibition 'Ensemble' by Chris Kallmyer that I seen in Santa Barbara. In this brief we were given a narrow tight space that is currently a fish shop in Glasgow and we had to design it into a house for a music lover. After seeing this exhibition I decided to design this house for a sound artist. I wanted this house to be sound installation for them, as many sound artists get inspiration from daily sounds. I created each room as an exhibition and based it off different sounds, for example, the dining room is based around sounds in nature, with the ability to make your own sounds on the tables and windows. The space is beside a railway track so I wanted to incorporate that daily sound into the house, creating sound stops in arches throughout the house. This space is to feel like a studio and an experience for the artist and guests who come through the house and to inspire them.
